HOPE Grant: Your Key to Homeownership

HOPE Grant: Your Key to Homeownership

Whether you're buying your first home, moving to a new one, or re-entering the housing market, the financial hurdles of a down payment and closing costs can be challenging. That’s why Heartland Credit Union is excited to share an opportunity to help make homeownership more accessible through Homeownership Possibilities Expanded (HOPE) Grants

What Are HOPE Grants?

HOPE Grants provide up to $12,500 in assistance for down payments, closing costs, and eligible home repairs for households earning at or below 150% of the Area Median Income (AMI). This program is designed to support homebuyers who may not traditionally qualify for financial assistance but still need a helping hand in making homeownership a reality. Once you live in the house for 5 years without refinancing, the grant will be fully forgiven.

Who Can Apply?

One of the best features of HOPE Grants is that they are not limited to first-time homebuyers. This program is especially beneficial for individuals and families in the “missing middle” – those who earn too much to qualify for traditional assistance programs but still face challenges in affording a home.

When & How to Apply

HOPE Grants for 2025 will be available starting March 3, 2025. Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s important to apply as soon as possible.

If you’re considering buying a home and could benefit from this assistance, now is the time to start preparing! Contact Heartland Credit Union to learn more about eligibility requirements, application details, and how we can support you on your journey to homeownership.

Homeownership is within reach, and with the help of a HOPE Grant, you can move forward with confidence. Don’t miss this opportunity—get in touch with us today for more information or to apply! Call us at 800.428.8472.
