Heartland has a team of experienced professionals ready to help you navigate these challenges. We are committed to understanding and prioritizing our members' needs to provide solutions that help lessen financial strain. Our goal is to not only help our members get back on their feet, but it is also to be there for them through every step of their journey.

Our assistance options could include loan deferral, forbearance plan, new loans, refinancing existing debts and one-on-one counseling to bring balance back to your finances.

How We Can Help

Hardship Deferrals – Needing loan payment relief due to job loss, divorce, sickness, injury, or a death in the family? We may be able to provide a no fee deferral with no interest collected.^ Interest will continue to accrue on the loan, but this could be just the break you need to get back on your feet. Not available on real estate loans.

Financial Wellness Assistance – We’re here to walk with you on your way to financial wellness

  • Personalized Financial Counseling – Meet one-on-one with one of our Member Solutions Specialists to discuss your situation and come up with a plan to fit your specific needs. We’re here to help you with budgeting and saving.
  • Tailored Budgeting Plans – Using our FREE online budgeting program from Enrich, we’ll help you develop a monthly budget that you can follow every month.
  • Financial Wellness Checkups – Once you’re on the path to financial wellness, our work isn’t done. We’ll continue to work with you to help you reach your financial goals.

Debt Consolidation – Consolidating multiple loans into one simple payment can sometimes make managing debt easier. You may be able to lower your interest rate, saving money each month or allowing you to pay the debt off faster. We can help you find the option that best fits your needs.

Credit Builder Loan – Once you’re back on your feet, we can help establish an emergency fund and improve your credit with a Credit Builder Loan.

  • Borrow between $500 and $3,000
  • Flexible terms and competitive, fixed rates
  • Loan funds are secured in a savings account and earn dividends for the term of the loan
  • We’ll report your payment history to TransUnion and Experian credit bureaus**
  • When the loan is paid in full, you will have access to the funds and the dividends you earned
