Discover how we can meet your needs.
This April, take your kids on a Jurassic journey to financial wellness during National Credit Union Youth Month. Teaching kids about financial literacy early in life is key to helping them develop lifelong, healthy money habits that make their dreams possible.
If you have been wondering how to empower your kids to save for their future, National Credit Union Youth Month is a great opportunity to start or boost your initiatives.
It's the Heartland way.
Start by finding ways to earn money. Give them extra chores. Have them sell old things they don’t want or need anymore, and when it’s time, encourage a part-time job. Then open a youth savings account at HCU and they’re on their way to financial wellbeing. And with guidance from HCU, we’ll make sure to keep it that way.
A chance to win $100!
Every member under the age of 18 that opens an account or makes a deposit during the month of April is eligible to win $100 in the National Youth Savings Challenge!

Stop into any HCU branch and get your Youth Month Coloring Page or download a copy here. Bring the completed page into a branch to receive your free ice cream cone and be entered to win a $25 HCU Visa Gift Card! Contest open to youth under the age of 18.
The National Youth Saving Challenge is FREE and open to all youth under 18 who visit a participating credit union during April. While youth are encouraged to make a deposit at the credit union, no deposit is required to enter.
Parents/guardians giving permission for their youth to enter can submit on a 3" x 5" piece of paper the following information to the credit union:
Limit one entry per person.
Odds of winning depend on number of entrants. This contest is void where prohibited.
In May, the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) will randomly select and give a $1,000 grand prize to a participating credit union. That credit union will then randomly select 10 winners from its entrants. HCU will notify you if you are a winner.
